Assessment

Clarington Speech and Language Services offers detailed speech and language assessments to identify communication challenges. An assessment is the first step to creating an individualized and evidence-based treatment plan specific to your child to improve their communication. Formal assessment reports are available upon request and are subject to regular hourly fees.

Language Therapy

We offer language therapy services focused on improving language comprehension and expression. Language therapy can include understanding language, using spoken/oral language - including gestalts, improving social communication skills and exploring augmentative and alternative communication. Children with various diagnoses, including neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may benefit from language therapy.

Speech Therapy

We offer speech therapy for children that have difficulty with speech production and may not be understood well by others. If your child experiences challenges with Articulation, Motor Speech Production and/or Phonology speech therapy can help them learn to produce the correct sounds in words, phrases, and sentences.

Fluency Therapy

We offer fluency therapy for children who are stuttering and have challenges in the “flow” or “fluency” of their speech production. This can be seen in the repetition of words, syllables and sounds; prolonging sounds in words; and sometimes the absence of sound/phonation or “blocking”.
